As an NDIS registered provider, Meraki Care Services specialises in Disability Supports and Supported Independent Living. From our initial meeting, we engage with our clients in a personalised, goal-focused, and collaborative manner to maximise the benefits of their NDIS Plan.

At Meraki Care Services, our enduring mission is to become Queensland’s most trusted disability care provider, one that clients can rely on for years to come.

Our Story

As a couple from diverse cultural backgrounds, both working in the disability and aged care sectors, we envisioned a better way to serve our clients in a more personalised manner, honouring their individual choices and interests. Rooted in a culture that deeply values family and community relationships, we saw an opportunity to leverage our experience to realise our vision. This led us on a challenging journey through the NDIS to become a registered provider, culminating in the creation of “Meraki Care Services.” The name Meraki was chosen because it embodies the essence of putting a piece of oneself into everything one does.

Meraki Care began as a modest company in 2020, operating out of a small home office. We were soon joined by our first employee, Gayle, who handled administrative duties and has since advanced to Operations Manager. Embracing the belief that “from little things, big things grow,” Meraki Care has now expanded into a larger office. Today, we employ over 40 support workers and operate well-established Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes across the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay areas.

“When I returned to Australia with my son in late February, I engaged Meraki Care to provide care services for my son, who is non verbal and is diagnosed with ASD Level 3. My son has not had an easy transition into his life back into Australia after having a relatively settled routine overseas. The Meraki team operated without any behavioral plan in place or, in the initial months, any supporting therapists. They therefore had to deal with a client who had major behavioral issues as he tried to adjust to his new home, his new routine and new carers. It was never going to be easy.

The Meraki team continued to adjust their approach as new issues emerged and my son caused damage to his residence and injury to himself and on occasions to his carers and had inappropriate interactions with members of the public.
